Ever since I started using the Philips wake up lamp, I wake up less grouchy since it's a gradual wake up and not the sudden throng like the standard alarms. I wake up to birds chirping. I wish they were a bit more creative and allowed for more variations. The same chirping tune is short and repeats quickly. More variation would have been nice. It's been a more that I've used it and do notice that I'm "happier" waking up.

I was using two alarm clocks previously - one that i would snooze then the second one to actually get up. For the first time I am waking up gradually and sometimes even before the alarm (birds chirping) comes on. It took a couple of days to get used to (subconsciously) feeling the light come on. I do wish I would have bought the model that has multiple choices for the natural sounds -the birds chirping is nice - but it would be nice if each model had the multiple natural sound choice. Another feature I would like to see is battery back-up as power does go out ocassionally. I will continue to use my cell phone as a back up alarm.
