Does and Don’ts Of Shopping

For those of you that are desperate to know the does and don’ts of shopping, I will explain a few of these for you. Most of these dos and don’ts may apply to online and old fashion shopping methods.

For starters, before making any purchases you should know exactly what it is you buying. Don’t allow yourself to be talked into buying something you don’t need. And know what your product is worth. Know the relative value of the product and factor in if its new or old and any other variables.

You should also know the seller. If you cannot identify the online seller trying to lure you off of the auction site, with the promise of a better deal, you should avoid making the purchase. This usually means the seller is looking to take advantage of the buyer by keeping the money without sending the product in return. And because they have made the deal with you off of the auction site, they will have no consequences.

You should also be aware of whether the item comes with a warranty or if the seller or company offers follow up service if needed. Knowing who will pay shipping cost is also important. Some places offer free shipping deals, but most individual sellers will not extend this offer.

Buyers must also be aware of the return policy. If there is one they need to know if it is a full or partial refund, or only store credit. And if they do except the returned item, will there be a restocking fee and or are you required to pay for the shipping cost of the returned item.
