But now lets jump into the tips and tricks on how to shop online.

Ok, the first and most important tip is involving safety. This is important when it comes to online payment methods. You should always use a credit card when making any online purchases and never a debit card, check, or money order. This is just in case there are any disputes during a purchase, a credit card company will always refund all money spent. There are also online sites you can go to, to search ratings for many online companies.

They were determined by other customers, and will inform you on how their experiences with a specific company have been. Another safe tip that cannot be stressed enough concerns the website. You should only make purchases from websites that either says “secure site,” “secure server,” or “encrypted site.” This guarantees you that any information including financial and personal or private, written and submitted on that website will be transmitted safely and will not be able to be read by any third part.

Tips and tricks concerning privacy is also a very important subject. Often when making an online purchase, a site would first require registration on the site. If there is a way to buy a product without registering, perhaps purchasing the item at a different site, I would suggest just that. If not, before submitting your registration form, cheek a box usually located at the bottom of the registration page that says something to the effect of “do not contact me.” This should take you off of any potential mailing lists by that company.

And my final but most over looked tip concerns the return policy. Many don’t think to do this, but you should always make sure the site has a reasonable return policy that meets your standards. This will actually benefit you and the online store as well.

So again, be safe, be secure, and know how to protect yourself from any potential online hazards. Know the tips and tricks before competing any online purchases.
