It can be very risky to use wire transfers when doing any online shopping. Because of this it is highly recommended that no shoppers revert to wire transfers as a form of payment.

This is an unsafe payment method because once a wire transfer has been sent to the seller and there is some sort of dispute, or something goes wrong, there is a high chance that the payment will be a lose to the buyer. A buyer should always be weary of an online seller who insists on a wire transfer as the only payment method.

It is always best to call off the deal and to keep your potential money lost, than it is to take a chance on that must have item that you cant live without, but then loose your money and never receive an item in return at all.

Because this has become such a problem with online shoppers, many auction sites have banned the use of wire transfers. This is mainly because so many sellers have not sent the sold and paid for item in most cases. It’s so big a problem that many wire transfer companies often warn consumers not to use their services for purchases from unknown sellers.

There are many methods the scam artist, better known as the seller, uses to trick buyers into falling for their scams. A highly used method is the “second chance offer,” or “limited products left,” to losing bidders. This is done to persuade the losing bidders to leave the auction site, allowing the scam artist to take full advantage of the sell by way of wire transfer.

Because of these important facts, it is imperative that the buyer is aware of the seller and their accepted payment methods. If a wire transfer is the only way, avoid the transaction at all costs.
