6 Steps To Run Google Maps On Your Palm Treo
Google Maps has started to become a must-have app on your mobile device, and the Palm is no different. Google Maps allows you to get basic directions and pick up your current location, all of which can be disaplayed in a map or satellite view. In this tutorial we show you how to install and use Google Maps on your Palm Treo. Note you will need a data connection.
Step 1: Download Google Maps
Head to Google Maps Treo. download the PRC file to your computer, then double-click the file to install the software to your Palm.
Step 2: First Time Use
As soon as Google Maps has transferred to your Treo, it will launch and ask you to accept its terms and conditions; if your phone is off, it will prompt you to turn it on. It will start to load its base map and will need a data connection to work. If it doesn’t find a connection it will quit the application.
Step 3: Find Your Location

To find your current location, click the one symbol found at the top of the screen, then just type in the street, city or postcode. The more information the better. Click OK to see the search results, and you can then zoom in on the map or click on the arrows at the bottom of the screen to move between each search result.
Step 4: Get Directions
If you want to get basic directions between two locations, the easiest way is to click the yellow roadside icon at the top of the screen. A directions box will appear. Simply type in both your locations, then click OK. After a while, it will calculate your route and produce a summary. Click Start to get your directions. You can skip between steps by using the arrows at the bottom of the screen.
Step 5: Find Local Businesses and/or POI

To find nearby businesses/PO on the map, click on the Google Map header and choose Find Nearby Businesses. Now type in the type of business/POI you want to find and hit OK. With the results displayed on the map, select the POI to gain address info, get directions to or from the address (via the icon at the bottom right corner), or call the POI with a click of a button.
Step 6: Satellite View

To get a satellite view instead of the standard map view, hit the rightmost icon on the top header.
